Well the subject says it all.
You tell me anyone who has not failed in business, or at something in their lives, and I will show you someone who has never tried, never been out of their comfort zone.
This subject is very close to my heart. Why? Because I have been there, I have failed in business, a couple of times. This is not surprising as statistically only 1 in 10 businesses make it through the first five years, in other words 9 out of 10 businesses fail.
Shock horror, this can't be can it?
I assure you it is!
Did you know though, that almost ALL of the great entrepreneurs also failed in Business? Shock horror again!! So what makes them different to the ones that did not succeed? Its easy, they kept trying!! Winning formula.
Do you know what the difference is between the top 5% of the world and the rest? The Haves and the Have nots? I feel like I am repeating myself here, so my apologies, its just that some people need to hear this over and over again!!
The difference is that the top 5% keep getting up and moving forward in spite of what is being said and done around them.
I did not take the decision to leave my family and friends in New Zealand lightly, in fact some might say I left New Zealand under a "cloud" this would of course be the uninformed among the masses. That is of course totally over to perception, or perspective, and whose you want to listen to or believe, hence the last post as to 'What will they think'.
The 'cloud' that I speak of, is that people are under the common mis-belief that I ran away, which really could not be further from the truth. I do not expect that everybody will believe or understand that, that is not my issue, it is theirs. I know why I left and I know exactly what it is I have to do.
For those of you reading this for the first time I invite you to read my very first post, and the following posts. I am sure most of you will be able to see that during the time I have grown, and learnt a lot about myself, and about people in general.
There will be people out there that would like to believe that they are the only ones who have 'circumstances' they are the only ones to ever have had hard times. Well boohoo to them, grow up and smell the coffee, I really do feel like I am repeating myself, however I will say it at least once more We are all responsible for where we are in life right now the same as I am responsible to all the people that were in my employ and all the creditors of my 'failed' businesses.
What these people really don't see is the big picture. It is probably because they do not wish too, they would rather see the negative in any situation, or would rather think the worst of someone. Well again I feel sorry for these people, and again, its not that I pity them, more so the people they come into contact with, as generally because of the hatred they project, they get more of it back.
Now the big picture, what is it? We are on a journey here, we are going to be millionaires in now 10 months, the reason for this is so that we are able to pay back all the creditors of these failed business, to pay out all the staff that are owed money, hell to pay the tax department, after all, who wants to be in debt to them?!
Why did we leave? Why did we not just stay in NZ?
Well the answer to that is easy, and it can be found in the text of this blog. If you read it, you'll know.
When it is all said and done in life, and we depart this realm for the next, we all stand before the creator. I know that I will be able to stand tall and say with my hand on my heart that everything I have ever done in business has been with good intention.
It may not have always turned out perfectly, as I said earlier 9 out of 10 businesses fail. That means you have to plan to fail 9 out of 10 times to succeed. It doesn't mean you will fail 9 out of 10 times.
As long as you can remember what it is you are trying to achieve and stay focused on your outcome and keep taking small consistent steps towards your outcome you will get there. That is why I know, with out doubt that we will succeed in what it is we are trying to achieve.
Until next time....I want to leave you with something that my father told me when I was young,
Love many, Trust a few, but always paddle your own canoe.
I am doing what it takes to put the perceived wrongs right, on my terms. That is all I can do, and it is all anyone can ask of me.
